“Is flattery an assault against the Believer?”

Well, we all know the End-times are here. With it comes an array of “new awakenings” and challenges in a world that is changing faster than our ability to keep up. What this means in “real-time” is that a Believer’s “spiritual tools” are absolutely essential for our very survival. These “spiritual gifts” given to Christ’s Body, by Christ Himself, are not only God’s delivery system and guide to understanding the signs of the times – but are designed to give us “the supernatural ability” and POWER – the advantage to live above and beyond our natural means.

The application of spiritual discernment and God’s wisdom in our “relationships” is the very foundation upon which all other decisions will ultimately rest. We are social and relational beings, by design, and all “functionality or dysfunctionality” begins at this basic level.

We need His gift of Spiritual Discernment, above all else, operating on overdrive, to navigate through this life’s sharkier waters.”

Natural, sensual wisdom and New Age spirituality won’t get the job done and will not secure success here in this life that leads to “eternal security” in the next one – with God.

What this all means is we must focus on understanding our Spiritual Man and DNA. We must ALSO accept the concrete reality and final authority of Scripture in that “our human spirit” MUST be born again and “renewed” by the power of the Holy Spirit. No amount of human effort or righteous activities can accomplish this divine act of grace.

Spiritual illumination of the Holy Spirit

If we are to enter into or even SEE the Kingdom of God we must be born again. If we fail to see His kingdom of spiritual things how will we understand deception and overcome the things of this world?

For Jesus answered, “Verily, verily I say unto you unless a man be born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God.” Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you unless one is born of the water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” (John 3: 3-5)

Without this occurring in the life of the Believer we simply have eyes, but they are not illuminated or made pure by the Spirit of God. They are indeed heavily influenced and even corrupted by the prince and powers of this world. Until and unless the new light of Christ’s illumination of the Holy Spirit takes up residence and “dwells inside us” God’s Discernment and Holy Ghost Witness will be lacking. (1 Corinthians 3:16)

The Relationship Between Spiritual Division and Spiritual Discernment in the life of a Believer. . .

Avoid Divisive Persons – Pauls Exhortation, Romans 16: 17-20

“Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.  For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil. And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. “

There are a few quick and simple takeaways that we can learn from Paul’s exhortation to the new Believers in Rome. It should and must be noted that there were certainly “tares among the wheat” (just as Jesus Himself had warned us about in the Gospel of Matthew 13) – i.e. those individuals deliberately sown into the harvest by Satan, and whose sole reason for being there is to thwart the purposes of God in your life.

Without the divine gift of spiritual Discernment we are largely left in the dark and to our own human devices to “figure it all out” for ourselves. This assumes we ever recognize who they truly are at all. However, when and if we do, we must determine the correct address of these “rogues” among us.

So how’s a Believer to know what to do with these “Spots on our love feasts???” (Jude 1:12)

The Gifts of the Spirit

In Christ’s immeasurable love for us, He desires to save His children and to help us avoid years of unbearable pain, torment, and harms that will certainly be inflicted by these individuals. To snub those thieves and wolves in our lives. He does this by imparting to us those “Spiritual gifts and tools” we have already begun to discuss here. Along with the gift of “Discernment” the Bible talks about at least 8 other gifts that are imparted by the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12) all designed “To thoroughly equip us for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3: 17) Wisdom is given by the Holy Spirit and is symbolic of Christ in Scripture.

“Wisdom is the principal thing.” -Proverbs 4:7

How to identify them by their fruits (or by the lack thereof) and how to simply use God’s gift of Wisdom to “avoid” these depraved souls, “- to continue onward and upward will allow us to move forward with God’s plans and purposes for our lives.

My brethren, remember, in God’s economy there is no “Survival of the Fittest” there is only the survival and eternal security of those who have been prepared by God and His Spirit.
