“Shedding” the Old Man: Why God Hates a Mixture. . .
Why try to dress up an old thing that is still– well, OLD? Religion and pride have a way of deceiving mankind into believing that we can shape and form the kind of human being we want to be. Some call that new person “A Christian,” but the “old and the new” nature cannot be mixed into God’s new Creation.
It is only the identity of Christ (His mind, Spirit, and very nature) that transforms us and makes us into a “new creature” in Him. The “new wine” of the Holy Spirit is then poured into the new vessel, taking up residency and occupying the new man. This vessel alone is qualified and capable of carrying the Son and Spirit of God inside his person. Join us in today’s broadcast as we examine the evidence, –and the pretence of being NEW.
This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind,
(Ephesians 4)
18 having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart;
19 who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
20 But you have not so learned Christ,
21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus:
22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,
23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
