The Hug Can I just hug your neck?

Wrap around your soul like the trunk of a tree; Entertain this timeless scheme.

Hear me out first, and then you’ll see…Now this snake was the most subtle of all the bunch.

His desires can never change – it’s to have you like lunch. And without this in mind, it just wouldn’t be the same;

Or would it be more obvious to you if he jumped out with fangs?Do you prefer to be warned? Do you like to feel, taste, and see?His seed comes with ‘death pangs,’

You can take that from me. ‘I can’t breathe now’ because my spirit lacks air;

In my own voice –you’ll say it too whenever he’s there.

This Hug wrapped me up, covering me all around.Intended to suffocate life itself;

To have me completely Bound.It’s circling round’ about me. Hey, you’re hovering too near!

Can your job be that simple? — Is my response still not clear?

“I’ll keep you from all that I love, and resist you at all costs. I’ll choose the path of Paradise and warn all those who are lost.

“To reject that fatal squeeze, with all of its vengeance and strife.

For I know the Way and the Truth and the One that leads to ‘Eternal’ life.Oh, Mighty Python!

Oh, Boa Constrict!

Never again will you draw nigh, to deceive – and then to afflict.

To take away the breath of the Servants of God;

And then slither away with a wink and a nod.
