“Whose House is This?” Why the Devil needs your Agreement
Beth-aven is defined in Scripture as a “house of nothingness” and a House of Wickedness; i.e., “of idols”, a place in the mountains of Benjamin, east of Bethel ( Joshua 7:2 ; 18:12 ; 1 Samuel 13:5 ). In Hosea 4:15 ; 5:8 ; 10:5 it stands for “Bethel” (q.v.), and it is so called because it was no longer the “house of God,” but “the house of idols,” referring to the calves there worshipped.
Join us in today’s broadcast as we dissect –and discern what “Spiritual Agreement” actually means in the lives of God’s people. Amos asked the question, “How can do walk together unless they be agreed?” Now we need to answer the question of: “What and who are we in agreement with?”
How many of us have already come into agreement with someone or something that does not agree with the Lord? What we come into agreement with we subsequently become ‘Subject To.’ This is a very important ‘legal term’ that denotes ownership and possession and is a spiritual principle with direct implications that can work for us or against us as Believers. “There is POWER in agreement” and the devil knows how to ‘usurp and redirect’ God’s covering and authority to ‘yoke us up’ to the iniquity, sin, lawlessness, and rebellion of other people, places, and things. Our obedience to Christ and the disavowal of all that is contrary to God’s Spirit of Truth is the only way to defeat this debilitating and crippling spiritual bondage, for good.
